HUMAN GENERATIVE CIRCUITS - a Humagenerative Circuit.
Our cultural fascination with all things technology and digital reveal a tacit agreement that ties us to our perceived hope for evolution and transformation. For too long, “advancement” has been synonymous with increases in velocity, intensity and efficiency. A question of quality, of sustainability and the commensurate awareness of our (human) position on the planet requires thoughtfulness, intention and attention. There is a pronounced need for evolution, and the cultivation of this awareness.
Background- Gordon Moore- a co-founder of INTEL, observed that the power of microchips doubled essentially every 18 months, given the same physical dimensions and cost to produce it. Over time this proved true every two years and became dubbed as Moore's Law. To date, processing power has doubled every two years since 1965! In this way, “Moore’s Law has become a benchmark in levering evolutionary steps- for technology,
Moore’s Law series:
In this series the exploration of technology has more to do with creating an invitation- to the viewer to imagine a new circuitry- of human potential. Asking of ourselves the simple question- “could I be twice as kind (or compassionate or humble or filled with wonderment) next year, in two years” - could transform the energies in our activity. The human creative force is the transformative energy- and can be grown, or developed to imagine new uses for human potential. This invites a life of sustainable growth- built on principles of human creativity and true growth not reliance on a zero-sum equation where there is a winner and a corresponding loser. Generative systems such as biodynamic farms, or the pruning of trees, which provide resources while growing the very product that produces them (an enriching system!) are the keys to a sustainable future. Human circuitry can work in this same way.
